A neighbourhood salon that takes its time
Thira opened in 2017 above a bakery on Panampilly Avenue. Our founder, Divya R., had spent eleven years cutting hair in Bengaluru and Dubai and wanted a salon in her home town where nobody felt rushed out of the chair.
We started with three chairs and a single facial room. Today there are nine of us: stylists, a colourist, two skin therapists, a nail technician and a massage therapist trained in Kerala Ayurvedic practice.
Every appointment starts with a short consultation. If a treatment isn't right for your hair or skin, we will tell you, and suggest something that is.
Hygiene
Clean, every single time
The things we do between every client, whether or not anyone is watching.
Tools sterilised between clients
Scissors, combs and nail tools are cleaned and sterilised after every client. Metal nail tools come out of a sealed pouch in front of you.
Single-use where it matters
Wax spatulas, nail files, buffers, face sponges and neck strips are used once and thrown away. We never double-dip into wax.
Fresh linen, every time
Towels, capes and spa sheets are washed at high temperature daily. Each client gets a freshly laundered set.
Patch tests before colour
First-time colour and keratin clients get a patch test at least 48 hours before the service, free of charge.

Humidity, hard water and strong sun are tough on hair and skin. We use professional ranges that suit Indian hair and skin, and we're happy to tell you exactly what goes on.

- Ammonia-free and low-ammonia colours, chosen for Indian hair and skin tones
- Formaldehyde-free smoothening and keratin systems
- Cold-pressed coconut, sesame and herbal oils for our Ayurvedic massages, prepared in small batches
